Purpose of the FidoNet WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference (Echo)
****************************************************************
LAST REVISED: Feb. 3rd, 1995
-------------
The WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference is a gathering place for
all WILDCAT! Sysops whether they run Fido/Echomail or not.
This is a forum to ask questions and seek answers to
operational support problems. This covers both WILDCAT! and
directly related 3rd party products.
At this time, the Conference may be made available to all
callers, whether they are sysops or not. The Moderator retains
the right to close the Conference to Sysops only at any time.
Sysops should try to monitor messages published here by their
callers for topic appropriateness whenever possible.
Rules for the WILDCAT! Sysops Support Conference
************************************************
1. No BBS advertisements are welcome in the Conference.
A simple "Hello, I'm new here" will do. BBS phone numbers
and *any* other extraneous information in messages or
signatures (other than origin lines) constitutes advertising
and is not permitted.
2. Product advertisements *are* welcome under the following
conditions only:
a. Keep advertisement to *ONE PAGE or LESS* (one page means
30 - 40 lines) INCLUDING tearlines and useless data such
as offline reader signature lines, etc.
b. Advertisement should be written to convey *quiet
professionalism* of both advertiser and audience.
c. Product advertised must be DIRECTLY usable by, with, or
for WILDCAT! BBS software, but not exclusively so.
d. Price of product may be included in advertisement.
e. Either a FidoNet node number, phone number, or U.S. Mail
address should be provided for contact.
f. The Moderator will have the final decision as to what
products and/or services are appropriate to advertise.
3. *NO FLAMING WILL BE TOLERATED* on *any* person, vendor,
product, or service participating in this conference.
4. Please keep all messages ON-TOPIC. Any post that does not
deal with an actual operational problem/question or an answer
to such, is considered off topic.
If you don't know what's allowed, *ASK* first or re-read this
Rules file.
The Moderator has the final decision as to what is on or off
topic.
5. Excessive quoting is not permitted. When responding to a
message, please QUOTE *ONLY* THE TEXT YOU WISH TO RESPOND TO,
NOTHING MORE. Please *do not* include personal
hello/goodbye/"In a message to" lines, offline mail reader
signature/tag lines, mail processor signature/origin lines,
etc. in the quoted response. Please keep all messages
reasonably short and to the point. Be considerate of others.
6. Handles are *not* allowed in the Conference. Real names
only, please.
7. ASCII, ANSI and WILDCAT! specific graphics and graphics codes
are not permitted in messages. Not everyone reading the
conference can translate them.
8. This Conference is *not* an official support medium for *any*
Mustang Software, Inc. product including WILDCAT!. For
support, contact Mustang Software, Inc. directly.
9. The WILDCAT! Echo may *not* be gated outside of FidoNet by
anyone to or from any QWK or Fido Technology network without
the express permission of the Moderator.
10. Repeated offenses of the rules by any participant may result
in that node's link to this Conference being cut.
11. The conference is *not* to be used as a medium to report bugs
of beta software to the authors. Contact the author directly
to report the bug/problems. If a question comes up about
the operational side of beta software, then feel free to ask
a question about the software in the conference.
